Job Purpose
- The key role of the Warehouse Manager to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products.
- Open marketing channels, and develop routes to markets to ensure sells target are met and new businesses are developed.
- Coordinate other auxiliary activities associate to the warehouse i.e., logistics and fleet management.
- Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
Job Description
- Ensure smooth daily operation of the warehouse, making sure the warehouse operates in its peak efficiency.
- Implement procedures and policies that would benefit the warehouse.
- Develop efficient warehouse operations system to determine product handling, storage, inventory management and equipment utilization.
- Oversee daily operations, such as receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance of products.
- Develop and implement warehouse safety policies, procedures and protocols.
- Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain documentation and accurate records of warehouse activities.
- Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles.
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.
- Coordinate all the human resource personnels associated with the warehouse and its fleet.
- Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned by the MD/CEO or the Management team whilst providing administrative support.
Competencies Required
- University degree with a major in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any social science field)
- Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
