Training objective
This training program aims to build the capacity of trainees (partners) to be able to develop and manage their agribusinesses at the end of their technical training. It is expected that the trainees will acquire the required competencies in developing a business plan, managing farm operations and finance, establishing effective communication, and develop marketing skills for their produce.
The objective of this consultancy is to develop training material, deliver training, evaluate and provide reports on the training.
Target Group
The target group for this training is the trainees (partners) between the ages of 18 and 29, who have undergone technical training in Olericulture and soilless farming practices.

Job Purpose
Our client, an agricultural enterprise engaged in training young people between the
ages of 18 and 29 in olericulture using soilless culture media needs the services of a
training consultant to provide soft skill training in the following areas;
a. Writing a business plan.
b. Basic accounting and financial management.
c. Farm planning and record-keeping.
d. Agribusiness management.
e. Effective business communication.
f. Agricultural product marketing and sales.
Job Description
Scope of Work
· Content Design – Develop a training agenda for each of the selected topic(s) with a summary of major takeaways (expected lessons to be learned)
· Content Development - Develop the context-specific content for each selected topic and training methods to be used.
· Training slides – develop training slides and delivery materials for the training delivery. The slides should include text, graphics, and audio-visuals.
· Deliver training – The training will be delivered onsite in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
· Training evaluation – evaluate each session after delivery and provide feedback.
· Training report. Provide training report by the end of the training including recommendations for further training.
Competencies Required
- Experience in writing a business plan.
- Basic accounting and financial management.
- Knowledge on farm planning and record-keeping.
- Experience in agribusiness management.
- Effective business communication.
- Skilled in agricultural product marketing and sales.
Procedure
i. Consultants are to submit their CV indicating areas of interests (each consultant
is expected to handle a minimum of 3 topics)
Deadline: on or before Saturday 18 th May 2024.
ii. Successful consultants will be contacted on Monday 20 th May 2024.
Contacted Consultants will be required to submit.
iii. Training curriculum – detailing course objective, course contents, training
methods, duration, expected outcome, etc.
Deadline: Wednesday 22nd May 2024.
iv. After review and approval, they will be required to submit training materials.
v. Training materials – session plan, training slides, group activities, pre and post-
training evaluation tool, templates, etc.
Deadline: Monday 27 th May 2024.
vi. After review and approval, consultants will be required to deliver training on-site
at Abeokuta, Ogun State.
vii. Training delivery
viii. (10 - 11 June 2024 – consultant 1) (12 -13 June 2024 – consultant 2)
– each consultant is to deliver 3 sessions of 2 hours per day with 1 hour
break between each session. Each topic should be for a session i.e. 2
hours. Thus, each consultant will deliver 3 topics in two batches.
ix. (Day 1 batch A, 3 sessions. Day 2. Batch B 3 sessions). Each consultant will take
a total of 6 sessions in 2 days.
x. Training report. Thursday 20 th June 2024
The consultants are expected to work for 10 days within 3 weeks. i.e.
a. 6 days preparation and travel
b. 2 days delivery
c. 2 days report writing and submission.
Remuneration will cover daily work rate, Transport, and hotel.
