Job Summary

On behalf of First Multiple Microfinance Bank Limited (FMMFB), BlueBrain Services Ltd are looking to hire an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer who would support the effective risk management and the overall policies of the bank.

About the Hiring Organisation

First Multiple Microfinance Bank Limited is a contemporary microfinance bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2009. The bank provides traditional microfinance services to customers as well as support to smallholder farmers through cooperative micro-lending schemes that focus on enhancing smallholder farmer productivity and capacity in the Agribusiness space.

Job Purpose

The Risk and Compliance Officer will support effective risk management, compliance to external regulations and overall FMMFB policies and procedures. The RCO will see to daily safety, security, delivery of Bank obligations and related financial responsibilities.

Job Description

·  Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations. All local and international regulations and internal processes and policies.

· Provide support on risk management approaches, tools and compliance issues to management and staff

·  Develop and implement a robust risk and compliance framework for the organization

·       Support the design, review and implementation of policies and procedures

 

·       Assist in defining new products, process, and guidelines with regulatory requirements

 

·       Support the coordination and delivery of relevant trainings, workshops, and other capacity building initiatives relevant to risk management and compliance internally

 

·       Assist in the review of the risk and compliance across the operation

 

·       Prepare/contribute relevant inputs to reports and analysis as requested

 

·       Create, review, and implement policies and procedures and best practices in the industry

 

·       Ensure that processes and controls are in place to maintain internal and external compliance and are regularly monitored

 

·       Define new products and process guidelines in line with regulatory requirements

 

·       Identify compliance and IT risk as well as develop processes to manage these risk

 

·       Stay abreast of current developments and update management on same

 

·       Ensure that the bank is prudential guidelines complaint

 

·       Carry out internal reviews and audit of processes and systems in the bank

 

·       Liaise with external auditors on all compliance related matters.

 

·       Access potential fraud activities and monitor fraud detection tools

 

·       Drive the process of obtaining and maintaining new and existing regulatory licenses

 

·       Conduct regular training and workshop on compliance, risk assessment, internal, policies etc.

 

·       Drive all compliance project initiative and advising for the management and business partners on compliance program

 

·       Give regular reports to management on corporate and regulatory strategy

 

·       Advise on compliant matters including regulation technology to aid compliance

 

·       Perform any other duties that may be assigned

Competencies Required

·       Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or other relevant field is required.

·       PE 1 ICAN exam completed

·       At least 4-5 years of experience in microfinance bank and risk management or related operations role

·       Excellent report writing skills

·       Computer Literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite    

·       High level of commitment and enthusiasm

·       Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English, Pidgin English, and any Nigerian language

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage competing priorities

·       Outstanding team player and willingness to learn and support learning of others

·       Present professional behavior and outlook always.
