Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide support, advise and supervise the project’s monitoring and evaluation activities. Would be charged with the responsibility of collecting accurate data, quality analysis and accountability, interpretation, and reporting of MEL results of project activities.
Job Description
· Ensure the accuracy of data collection for area project activities. This includes field visits for data collection and validation through monitoring, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
· Generate relevant and coherent MEL reports and integrate graphics in reports and information products to help visualize the meaning of data.
· Identify best practices as well as opportunities for MEL capacity building.
· Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing on MEL and assist the project personnel with M & E tools and in supporting them in their use.
· Identify and formulate MEL findings, lessons learned, and recommendations and avail results for decision-making processes and further project development.
· Ensure consistent and accurate transfer of data from online assessment and monitoring tools to internal databases. And prepare and maintain a database of programs and projects.
· Develop and regularly update relevant monitoring and tracking tools and share with the MEL unit for consolidation.
· Participate in annual project evaluation and planning workshops.
· Collect and develop project success stories to build a positive reputation for the organization.
· Evaluations, development, and Update of measurement frameworks and MEL systems, including indicator lists, guidance protocols, methodologies, and data management systems, and developing pragmatic approaches for the reconstruction of baselines or midlines for projects.
· GIS data collection and analysis.
· Carry out any other duty as may be assigned.
Competencies Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, International Development, Economics, or any related field
· Minimum of 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation role.
· Experience in Agribusiness or farming-related fields will be highly recommended.
· Knowledge of agricultural operations, management, and research.
· Knowledge of Agricultural mechanization tools is a plus.
· Strong I.T knowledge and experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
· Excellent Report Writing skills
