Job Purpose

The Lead Delivery Manager is responsible for overall technical implementation, coordination, and alignment across all the states. The LDM manages the implementation risks and ensures compliance with the project delivery scope and timeline.

Job Description
  • Lead the implementation of all technical components of state project activities in full coordination with other staff members
  • Manage the technical team, and provide overall supervision and monitoring of the state activities in the field.
  • Provide support to the team through constructive feedback and coaching to ensure implementation is on track
  • Responsible for project workflow and ensuring that duties or delegated tasks are clearly communicated and carried out.
  • Work closely with the technical team to develop timely and realistic plans.
  • Collaborate with the program manager on state program management and provide advice to the supervision team and consultants.
  • Manage program processes with the states team, including reviewing technical documentation and providing additional inputs as needed
  • Work closely with finance and program teams to support the delivery of quality project outputs
  • Oversight of development and implementation of progress monitoring tools related to program activities, review progress, identification delays and analyze the adequacy of resources
  • Provide feedback to the Monitoring and Evaluation system in order to assess the effectiveness of the projects and impact and propose recommendations for improvements.
  • Supervise the development of Quality control plan and procedures to ensure compliance with the program terms and conditions as well as preparing progress reports and updates required
  • Review project activities and quality check reports and contribute to overall program reporting
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor
Competencies Required
  •       Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in economics (development, agriculture, etc.), business administration, project management, statistics, development studies, or related fields. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  •       At least 6 years of experience working in agricultural and agri-businesses, agricultural-related project management, strategy, business development, management consulting, or in other relevant fields, in either public, private, or NGO sectors.
  • Computer Literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite
  •       Strong organizational and communication skills
  •       Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English, Pidgin English, and any Nigerian language
  •       Excellent coordination, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with experience applying these for both strategy and implementation/operations.
  •       Strong team player with excellent relationship management, sense of delivery, capacity building, facilitation, training, and presentation skills, and a passion for change and delivery
  •       Self-starter with strong motivation, ownership, and commitment to drive transformation
