Job Purpose
The Financial Controller will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and internal control for the project.
Job Description
- Develop project finance procedure and processes manual, Rule of financial engagement
- Develop and prepare financial reports and data and present to board for approval.
- Analyze and monitor financial data and internal controls.
- Oversee and prepare financial statements; BS, CF, etc
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Ensure compliance with all statutory rules of accounting
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Develop financial strategy, including risk management plans and opportunity forecasting
- Consolidate regular budget and manage cash flow, debt management and collection
- Prepare company tax and business activity statement
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
- Assist in payroll and staff benefit management.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned
Competencies Required
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, financial mathematics.
· Should be Chartered, ICAN or ACCA Certified.
· At least 2-3 years of experience in private sector accounting
· Professional knowledge and use of Excel
· Knowledge of accounting software; QuickBooks, safe accounting
· Knowledge of Agribusiness and donor fund management is a plus.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage competing priorities
· Outstanding team player and willingness to learn and support learning of others
· High level of commitment, honesty and enthusiasm.
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, skills.
· Excellent verbal, written communication and research skills.
· Ability to pay attention to detail.
