Abubakar Kolo Ndakpoto has had a distinguished career of more than 35 years spanning academia, government, consulting, banking, marketing and international services. More than 15 of those years were spent in senior management and leadership roles in investment and private banking, public sector finance, portfolio management, asset and liability generation, development finance, banking and finance, and international economic relations.

He has worked with multilateral institutions including the African Development Bank, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He has served as a representative of the Executive Directors on the 18-member Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group, and as a member of the recapitalisation committee of Trust Bank of Africa in Nigeria.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers (AFAR), the Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (CIFC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
